Introducing Talaia - a sculptural offset basin inspired by the cantilever, balancing weight and proportion in concrete form.
The Talaia Pedestal reimagines the cantilever as an intimate object for the home. Offset and elevated, it shifts weight into balance, a sculptural exploration of proportion that transforms a structural principle into refined form.
At Concrete Studio, we’ve long explored the tension between weight and weightlessness. Our commission for Brookfield, a ten-metre cantilevered concrete reception desk, challenged us to work at the edge of what’s possible in GFRC. The piece was engineered to hold its mass in suspension, creating the illusion of impossible lightness.
Talaia Pedestal carries this same language into a new context. The pedestal’s offset basin echoes the bold gesture of cantilever, distilled into an elemental form that feels both poised and grounded. It speaks to balance, restraint, and sculptural quietness, creating a statement that is as architectural as it is functional.
The bathroom today is more than a practical space; it has become a sanctuary, a place for balance and restoration. Talaia was created with this in mind. Its forms - pedestal and bath - speak the same visual language: sculptural yet restrained, tactile yet refined. Grounded in materials that are authentic and enduring, the Talaia Collection transforms daily rituals into moments of calm.
Objects of utility, yes - but also of contemplation. Designed to bring architecture’s poise into the intimacy of bathing.
