Introducing Isla, meet our newest Editions piece, a sculptural concrete dining table shaped around gathering.
Some pieces begin with function. Others begin with a feeling.
With Isla, we wanted to create a dining table that had real presence, but still felt relaxed enough to live around. Something sculptural without being precious. A table for long lunches, late dinners and all the ordinary things that happen in between.
A softer approach to concrete
Concrete naturally carries a sense of weight and permanence. With Isla, the challenge was to work with that quality without allowing the table to feel visually heavy.
The top takes an irregular oval form, softening the geometry and giving the table a less formal character. Beneath it, three cylindrical plinths create a strong architectural rhythm while keeping the composition open.
Their positioning is deliberately less predictable than a conventional four-legged table. From different angles, the relationship between the bases shifts, changing the way the table sits within a room.
Two materials working together
Isla combines two different expressions of concrete.
The cylindrical bases are cast, revealing the natural character of the material. The top is finished by hand in microcement, creating a finer, stone-like surface that responds more softly to light. The top and base have their own material identities which allow them to remain part of the same material language.
Made by hand
Small variations in tone and surface are part of the piece rather than something we try to remove. Each table carries the marks and nuances that come from being cast and finished individually, so no two will be exactly alike.
That material variation is one of the things we value most about working with concrete. It gives a piece character that cannot be replicated by a perfectly uniform manufactured surface.

Isla sits within our Editions range, where we explore ideas that move beyond our established collections.
Produced in a run of just ten, Isla gives us the freedom to approach the dining table more like a studio piece, experimenting with proportion, finish and form while keeping it completely functional.
It is a table designed to hold a room, but more importantly, to be lived around.
Built for long lunches, good company and staying at the table a little longer than planned.
