Kelp, Midnight, Stone: Three New Tones
In our Fremantle development workshop, every new tone goes through an extensive testing process before it’s released. Ilka, our head of design, and Brent, our concrete technician, work from small-scale samples through to full-sized pieces, refining each colour across multiple batches for uniformity, surface consistency and long-term stability.
That final part takes the longest. Concrete is reactive by nature, and colour shifts subtly as the material cures, settles and responds to light over time. A tone only becomes part of the palette once it can be reproduced consistently and confidently.
After months of development, we’re pleased to introduce three new additions to the Vivid palette: Kelp, Midnight and Stone.
Kelp
Drawn from cool coastal waters, Kelp sits at the quieter end of green. Its muted tone sometimes shifts to a grey depending on the light, making it a considered choice for bathrooms where natural light changes through the day. Works well alongside raw timber, aged brass, and pale stone.
Midnight
Dark and deliberate. Midnight is a deep blue-black concrete that adds weight and presence. It sits at the edge of the palette where colour gives way to shadow. At home in spaces designed to feel still, considered, and unhurried.
Stone
Warm, muted, and thoroughly versatile. Stone sits between sand and ash, the kind of tone that integrates with almost any material palette without competing. For projects where the concrete can recede and be subtle.
All three are available as samples, with the cost refunded on your order.
