Urban Barrel is a boutique coffee venue in Sydney’s CBD designed with a bold palette of concrete, bluestone, marble, brass, and steel. Concrete Studio was commissioned to fabricate the concrete bar fronts, wall panels, counters, and bar tops that anchor the fit-out with both strength and refinement.
The most complex element was a curved 90º corner bar front. Spanning three levels and forming a precision junction, it required exact engineering and meticulous craftsmanship to achieve the geometry. The result is a feature piece that appears effortless but is underpinned by the team's advanced planning.
Across the space, concrete panels wrap the café interior while robust counters and bar tops provide hard-wearing surfaces for daily hospitality service. Delivered on a tight programme, every piece was fabricated off-site to coordinate with the project’s long-lead finishes of marble, bluestone, and metalwork.
